Preservation Rhinoplasty
There is a revolution happening right now in rhinoplasty. Preservation rhinoplasty is a philosophy that emphasizes preserving as much natural anatomy as possible. The soft tissues, cartilage and bone of the nose are manipulated as little as possible. This involves less dissection and disruption of tissue which leads to quicker healing and more predictable, natural results.
What To Expect
This type of rhinoplasty is usually performed through a closed approach but an open approach might be necessary. The nose will be taped but no splints or casts are necessary after preservation rhinoplasty. You can expect some swelling and mild bruising around the eyes for the first few days. Patients should avoid strenuous activity for two weeks and avoid contact activity for two months.
