As you age, the brow begins to descend and deep furrows on the forehead become more prominent. Your youthful reflection is replaced by a tired or even angry-looking appearance. In some cases, the heaviness of the brow can also cause the eyelid skin to droop over the lash line, closing off the face completely.
Your gaze is unique and should enhance the surrounding facial features. A Brow lift in Plano with double-board certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Bader could be the solution you are looking for to open up the eye area. Male or female, his sophisticated surgical techniques level and realign your brows by trimming away excess skin to correctly fit the contours of your face.
Dr. Bader will take time to analyze your facial anatomy to decipher which procedure, or combination of procedures is right for you. If you also experience sagging eyelids, a Blepharoplasty may be suggested. In other cases, a fat transfer may be used to add volume to the brow area. Sometimes patients opt for a facelift or a rhinoplasty to further enhance their face. When your case doesn't require such advanced treatments, a neurotoxin can be used to create a temporary lift. Dr. Bader will advise you on the best approach during a consultation.
From the very first moment you contact us to the final days of your recovery period, Dr. Bader and his medically trained staff are by your side. If you are considering a brow lift in Plano, Dr. Bader’s one-to-one consultation is a great place to start. During this session, you will discuss your medical history, facial anatomy, concerns, and desired outcome. He will dedicate time to discover your visual preferences and based on your needs, devise a treatment plan, just for you.
Your brow lift begins with a calming general anesthetic before Dr. Bader commences with the agreed surgical treatment. Generally, Dr. Bader will opt for one of two brow lift techniques for your surgery, depending on your needs. An endoscopic brow lift causes minimal scarring and is Dr. Bader’s preferred method for lifting the forehead skin and tissues as it requires small incisions. Yet, in more advanced cases, a coronal brow lift, or traditional brow lift, may be required. Surgery takes 1-2 hours and you will be discharged the same day, once the anesthesia fully wears off.
There is no ideal age for a brow lift and men and women come to Dr. Bader with a variety of concerns. If you think that you may be a good candidate, consider booking a consultation to discuss your case in more detail.
Just like all surgical interventions, a brow lift comes with certain risks involved. Nothing is guaranteed. But, Dr. Bader's decades of top-tier training and highly skilled approach ensure that risks are minimized. Possible side effects include:
More extreme potential risks include:
If a brow lift is performed as a singular procedure, recovery time is relatively short and straightforward. Meanwhile, when combined with other surgeries you can expect added recovery elements.
In general, initial pain and swelling are controlled by oral pain medication. After one or two days the bandages are removed but the head must remain in an upright position to ease swelling. Some inflammation and bruising around the cheeks and eyes is normal and this will fade within 10 days post-surgery.
Two weeks post-surgery, Dr. Bader will review your recovery progress, and any sutures and clips will be removed. Sometimes, patients can experience numbness in the area. This is normal and will eventually die down within 6 months.
Restore youthful fullness to your forehead area with a facial fat transfer. Using fatty deposits to build up volume in this area will create a smoother, more radiant appearance.
Skin laxity isn’t an isolated concern. While addressing the upper area of your face, Dr. Bader may suggest a facelift to create a more even, natural-looking outcome.
With age, the thin skin on the eyes begins to droop and look crepey. A sagging brow can often be accompanied by droopy eyelids, treating both in one creates a brighter, more youthful gaze.
