Blepharoplasty Consultation

Pre-Surgery Preparation

Dr. Bader may request some pre-surgery tests such as blood work. He may also request that you quit smoking 2 weeks before and reduce any blood thinning medications.

Out-of-Town Patient Arrival

Allow at least 2 days prior to surgery to settle into Plano and feel rested before your blepharoplasty procedure.

Day Before Surgery

A pre-surgery appointment will give you the opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have before your surgery.

Day of Surgery

Using a calm and gentle hand, Dr. Bader will perform your blepharoplasty under a 3.5X microscope for the most accurate and precise results. A small incision is made on the crease of the upper eyelid for upper blepharoplasty patients, for a lower blepharoplasty, the incision is made along the lower lash line. Through these incisions, excess skin and fat are removed before small sutures are used to close the wounds.

Post-Surgery Follow-Up

After surgery, you won’t be able to drive so someone will need to be with you to take you home. A follow-up appointment allows Dr. Bader to check in on your healing. Sutures are removed around 5 days post-procedure.

Travel Post Surgery

It is recommended not to fly or leave the state for at least one-week post-surgery to avoid complications.

Social Readiness

The first week after surgery is normally spent with bruising and swelling. Yet, 14 days after you should be able to resume your daily activities with vigorous exercise possible after one month.
