Lip Augmentation can be achieve with two methods, one of them being filler, the other being an implant.
The most popular choice for lip augmentation is filler. We use hyaluronic acid based filler, which is not permanent. Based on the filler the patient can expect a 12-18 month correction. Patient comfort is extremely important, therefore, Dr. Bader administers a nerve block prior to injecting the filler. The procedure is completely painless and results are immediate. Some swelling can be expected up to 72 hours after the injection, bruising is rare. We have patients ice thoroughly before and after the injection.
Lip implants are a permanent silicone implant, placed in the office using local anesthetic. Swelling and bruising can be anticipated for 2-3 days and lips may be sensitive to touch for up to six weeks.
